Pacific Island Forum supports the Niue Natural Grid

The Pacific Islands Forum has expressed strong support for the Niue Natural Grid, following a substantial investment by UK-based Island Power. The initiative, which aligns with Niue's commitment to energy efficiency, received a boost with an initial USD750,000 investment for the development of a resilient and renewable energy network. The investment will be followed with large-scale financial support and knowledge and skills transfer.

The collaboration, facilitated by Pacific Trade Invest New Zealand, is expected to yield long-term educational and economic benefits, positioning the Niue Natural Grid as a trailblazer in the Pacific's climate resilience strategy. This marks a significant step in realizing the Forum's 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, aimed at fostering energy independence and addressing the impacts of climate change.

For the full details of this progressive development and its alignment with global sustainability goals, the original announcement is available at Pacific Islands Forum's official release.
